MIAMI – Just five days before Election Day, Univision News publishes its latest electoral polls: the National Latino Voter Poll, a survey that interviewed a representative sample of all Latino registered voters nationwide, and the Florida, Texas, Arizona and Pennsylvania Voter Polls, which interviewed a representative sample of all registered voters in each state with an oversample of Latino registered voters.
These new polls reveal the diversity and complexity of the Latino electorate current political preferences, voting intention, concerns, opinions on recent developments, views on President Trump, Joe Biden and much more.
Complete results of the polls are now available at UnivisionNoticias.com and via all Univision News digital and social media platforms. Additionally, highlights of the findings will be featured in Univision’s programming, from its morning show “Despierta América, to the different editions of its daily “Noticiero Univision” newscasts and its public affairs program “Al Punto.”
Overseen by Dr. Sergio García-Ríos, Director of Polling for Univision News, the surveys were conducted by the polling firms Latino Decisions and North Star Opinion Research from October 17 to October 25, 2020. The Texas Voter Poll was commissioned through a partnership between Univision News and the Center for Mexican American Studies (CMAS) at the University of Houston. The Arizona Voter Poll was commissioned through a partnership between Univision News and the Center for Latina/os and American Politics Research (CLAPR) at Arizona State University. The National Latino Voter Poll was commissioned through a partnership between Univision News, UnidosUS and SOMOS.
- Biden and Trump in a tie within the margin of error in Texas, where Democrats have not won a presidential election since 1976.
- Biden slightly ahead of Trump in Florida, where the president has 37% support from Hispanics.
- In Pennsylvania and Arizona, Biden has a five-point advantage over Trump among all registered voters.
- Biden leads Trump nationally among Hispanic voters by more than 40 points.
- A high percentage of voters have already voted in four key states: Texas, Florida, Pennsylvania and Arizona.
- Coronavirus is the biggest concern of voters in four key states: Texas, Florida, Pennsylvania and Arizona.
- A majority of voters in Texas, Florida, Pennsylvania, and Arizona support mandatory use of facemasks.
- Republican John Cornyn leads Democrat MJ Hegar by just three points in the Texas Senate race.
- Democrat Mark Kelly has a comfortable lead over Republican Martha McSally in the Senate race in Arizona.
- Voters in Texas, Florida, Pennsylvania and Arizona believe Biden would handle coronavirus better than Trump.
- Voters in Texas, Florida, Pennsylvania and Arizona believe that Trump would manage the economy better than Biden.
- Beyond the candidates, November 3 will be a clearly partisan vote.
